Working Principal

The HPLF operates on the same pressure filtration principle as the vertical variant, but with the vessel oriented horizontally and filter leaves mounted vertically inside the horizontal shell.

The feed slurry enters the horizontal vessel under pressure. Liquid passes through the filter leaves while solids are retained as cake. Where a retractable shell is fitted, the vessel housing slides hydraulically or mechanically along rails to expose the entire leaf assembly, allowing complete access for inspection, cleaning, and leaf replacement without disturbing piping connections.

This design is particularly advantageous when the filter cake is sticky, difficult to dislodge by vibration alone, or when visual inspection of cake formation is required between batches. The horizontal orientation also accommodates larger filtration areas than equivalent vertical models.
