The feed slurry enters the horizontal vessel under pressure. Liquid passes through the filter leaves while solids are retained as cake. The key differentiator is the retractable shell — the vessel housing slides hydraulically or mechanically along rails to expose the entire leaf assembly, allowing complete access for inspection, cleaning, and leaf replacement without disturbing piping connections.
