Sharpenn Technologies manufactures industrial drum dryers for converting liquid, slurry, or puree materials into dried powder or flakes. Our drum dryers feature a rotating cylindrical drum with precision-machined smooth surface, internally heated by steam. A thin coating of wet material is applied to the drum exterior, and within approximately three-quarters of a revolution the product is dried and removed by a static scraper. Drum drying is one of the most energy-efficient techniques for highly viscous liquids and pureed materials. Available in single-drum and double-drum configurations with SS and CS construction.

Working Principal

One or two large hollow drums are heated internally by steam and rotate slowly on horizontal axes.

Feed Application: Wet material is applied as a thin uniform film onto the hot drum surface via dip roll, nip roll, top pouring, or splash feeding.

Drying: Heat transfers from internal steam through the drum wall to the wet film. Moisture evaporates rapidly — typically within 2-5 seconds of contact time.

Discharge: A static scraper blade peels dried product off the drum as a continuous sheet or flakes into a collection trough.
